Privacy notice
We've written this for parents and pet owners, in plain English. If anything is unclear, email hello@tagsquad.co.uk.
Who we are
TagSquad (tagsquad.co.uk) is the data controller for the information described here.
Owners: what we keep and why
- Your email address, to send you finders' messages, alerts and sign-in links.
- Your mobile number, only if you add one for text alerts. It is stored encrypted and never shown to anyone who scans your tags.
- Your name and address, if you choose free engraving on a pet tag's back. It is stored encrypted, never shown on any tag page, and only read by staff to set it up or correct it, which is logged. It's deleted when you delete your account, and after 90 days if the tag it was entered for is never activated.
- What you put on a tag's page (a label, pet name, photo, notes). You choose which parts finders see. We remove hidden location data from photos.
- Scan history: when a tag was scanned, the approximate town or country, and the type of browser. We never store IP addresses. Kept for 90 days.
Finders
If you send a message, we pass it to the tag's owner with any contact details or location you choose to include, and keep it (encrypted) for 90 days so the owner can see it in their dashboard. We don't set cookies or use analytics or advertising on tag pages. The message form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam bots; it runs in your browser and doesn't track you across sites.
Children
Tags for children's belongings show a simple label by default, never a child's name unless a parent chooses to show one, and we warn against it. Tag pages don't profile visitors.
Who we share data with
Only the services we need to run TagSquad: Cloudflare (hosting), Resend (email) and Twilio (text messages). We never sell data.
Your rights
You can see, download and correct your data in your dashboard, and delete your account at any time (it is removed for good after 7 days). You also have the right to complain to the ICO.
